如果不降低烟气中的水分含量，单纯依靠加热提高烟气的排放温度，即使加热到很高的温度，在寒冷地区，仍然不能有效改善白烟现象，并且还会无谓消耗巨大的能源。
针对烟囱排放烟气在冬季时容易发生白烟，首先对净烟气进行冷凝除湿，降低含水率，脱除的水分可以回收再利用。然后再利用原烟气余热适当加热净烟气到合适的温度排放，即可大大改善甚至完全消除白烟现象。采用这种方法，在脱白的同时，可以实现烟气余热利用，节省能源，同时还可以进一步降低净烟气中灰尘含量，并实现节水和回收利用，可谓一举多得。
采用沃斯坦脱白工艺及DPS系统后，脱白效果显著：
